🔍 Problem

Retail staff lacked comprehensive training on how to assist neurodiverse customers and support accessibility needs in-store.

🎯 Goal

Educate Apple Store employees on accessibility features and how to accommodate neurodiverse customers, enhancing the overall shopping experience.

🧠 My Role

As the Product Specialist at Apple, I took the initiative to create and deliver an accessibility training program for the store team. I designed and delivered two key initiatives: (1) a store-wide accessibility training and (2) a neurodiverse shopper guide, including best practices for supporting neurodivergent individuals in the retail environment. I was responsible for content creation, presentation delivery, and collaboration with leadership to ensure the training was tailored to the needs of our diverse customer base.

💡 Process

• Developed content for an in-depth training session on accessibility features (iOS, macOS, and other Apple devices)
• Created a comprehensive store guide focusing on tips for assisting neurodiverse individuals, including those with sensory sensitivities
• Led a store-wide training session to ensure all employees understood the material and could apply it with customers
